As some of you may have noticed, there are a few changes being made inside the Kentucky Border website. We are starting some spring cleaning and giving the page a fresh new look. This may take some time but ultimately we want to provide our listeners and fans with the best viewing experience possible. Facebook and Twitter account links are coming as well.

Gil Evans is back on the bass for Kentucky Border, next time you come to see the band give him a big howdy. Gil is from the Toledo area and is the owner of Pasta Fina which is a fine Italian restaurant up there that you really need to try if you love Italian food.
Besides that Gil brings back experience on the bass and he's just alot of fun to be around, Just ask Mary she can tell you..

2011 has been a pretty eventful year for us so far! In February we travelled down to Nashville to play in the SPBGMA band contest and made it through to round 2! We returned with our first batch of copies of our debut CD, "Something Old...Something New," then our band had some health issues. Danny had a heart attack, and Rick and Paul both had to have surgery, (carpel tunnel and a fracture repair).
Everyone is healthy again and we're working on getting out and playing more. Unfortunately we will be losing our bass player, Rick Krassow. It's time for him to play music that features his better known talents on guitar and singing. His nick-name is Fret Masher afterall! We absolutely loved having him with us on bass but understand his need to spread his wings elsewhere. He will be missed and we look forward to seeing him around and jamming with him and his wife, Sheree, whenever the opportunity presents itself.
In the meantime the bass player position will be a rotating one until we find another, more permanent, band member.

We'll be bringing our CD back from Nashville when we come home from SPGBMA! News on a CD release party will be the next news I hope....
I should have a release date soon and I can't wait! We'll set up a store for our T-shirts and CD's as soon as all is ready.
We want to welcome Rick (Fret Masher) Krassow on bass. He certainly has the drive and chops to be a great addition to Kentucky Border and we can't wait to see where this next chapter of our music goes!
It's been a great 6 months with Gil on bass and we really hate to see him leave us, but for personal reasons he feels it's best for him and his family. We want to wish him all the best and thanks again for your time with us.
The CD is coming along just great! Can't wait to hear all the finished work. The song that is on our main page is one of the tracks....
We've finished tracking for our upcoming CD and now it's off to be mixed and mastered. We'll have more information shortly so keep an eye out.
